Not all the places that you go to are safe. There is something that could happen to you when you least expect it.
For example, take a look at the girl in this video.. She was just in a locker room when, all of a sudden, a man barges in and tries to do something terrible to her.

Kerwin Espinosa to reveal 12 ‘big’ officials involved in drug trade —Sandra Cam

Alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, who was arrested in Abu Dhabi last week, will reveal "big shot" officials involved in the country's drug trade, whistleblower Sandra Cam said Tuesday.
Cam, who claimed she tipped authorities about Espinosa's whereabouts, said the alleged drug lord's list involves about 12 officials, including "governors, congressmen and some generals."
"Malalaking tao ang involved dito," she told reporters at a forum in Quezon City. "Malalaki ang masasagasaan ni Kerwin Espinosa."
The whistleblower, a senatorial candidate who supported then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in the May presidential polls, said these officials may have been in office during the previous administration.
"Definitely," she said. "Because this administration is only here for 114 days. So imposible na 'yung mga bagong nakaupo ngayon."
She added: "But there are those politicians who are sitting governors, congressmen, mayors na masasagasaan dito."
Cam refused to name the officials, saying she did not want to preempt the announcement of the Philippine National Police (PNP) when Espinosa is deported.
She said the three-man police team that went to Abu Dhabi to coordinate the arrest, led by Senior Superintendent Albert Ferro, was able to get the names when they interrogated Espinosa.
Cam also said Espinosa is expected to arrive in the Philippines in three weeks.
"Sure na ho 'yon. Wala naman siyang na-violate na laws doon; pino-process lang 'yung documents kasi extradition," she said.
Kerwin is the son of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, who was also recently arrested by the police for the 11.4 kilograms of illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms found in his home during a raid in August.

THE RAPE OF PEPSI PALOMA

We were having lunch while watching “Eat Bulaga”, the popular noontime variety show on cable GMA TV, when someone commented that, according to what he read on Facebook, two of the show’s hosts, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, were involved in the gang rape of a Filipino American actress named Pepsi Paloma back in 1982.

This news surprised me but three young Filipinos, all below 21 and recent immigrants, who were also watching the show with us, chimed in and said that they also knew of the Pepsi Paloma rape. I asked them how that could be when it occurred long before they were born. They said they learned of the rape from the song “Spolarium” sung by the Eraserheads, a popular Filipino rock band of the 1990s.

I was puzzled as I knew the Eraserheads band had stopped performing more than a decade ago so I asked them how they even heard of the song. The three looked at each other as if wondering why I was asking such a silly question when everybody knows that the Internet makes songs of the past readily available to the present.

I went online, googled the Spolarium by the Eraserheads, and watched the group perform the song on YouTube. These were the lyrics that the three kids referred to: “umiyak ang umaga, anong sinulat ni enteng at joey dyan, sa gintong salamin, di ko na mabasa pagkat merong nagbura ahhh...” (The morning cried, what did enteng and joey write in the golden mirror I couldn’t read because someone erased it). I also learned from the kids that university professors regularly discuss the song and its meaning in their classes.

According to the kids, “enteng” is Vic Sotto and “joey” is Joey de Leon and they wrote a confession to to the gang rape but it was erased, they said, by Vic’s older brother, Sen. Tito Sotto, who somehow convinced Pepsi Paloma to withdraw her rape charge against his brother and his cohorts.

When I googled “Pepsi Paloma”, I saw the video that had been downloaded on Facebook by perhaps as many as 66,000 viewers. The “eat bulaga - Pepsi Paloma story” reported through power point presentation the story of Delia Smith, the eldest daughter of Lydia Duenas, a native of Borac, Northern Samar, and an American letter carrier, Kenneth Smith, who deserted his family when the children were still young. Because of her daughter’s good looks, her mother brought her to the attention of a manager who starred her in a soft porn movie called Brown Emmanuelle in 1981.

A year later, Pepsi Paloma reported to the police that she had been drugged by the three comedian hosts of Eat Bulaga - Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and Richie D’Horsey (Richie Reyes) - who then took turns raping her.

Pepsi’s mother sought the legal assistance of Sen. Rene Cayetano (the father of Sen. Pia Cayetano and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano) to serve as the private prosecutor of the case which made the headlines of the major newspapers. If convicted of the rape charge, the three comedians faced the death penalty, a sentence that was meted out previously on June 26, 1967, to the four men convicted of raping movie star Maggie dela Riva. Three of the dela Riva rapists were executed in 1972 on live TV while the fourth escaped the electric chair by dying in prison.

To prevent the same fate from happening to his brother, Sen. Tito Sotto, went to see Pepsi Paloma. According to her account of this visit, Pepsi said that Sen. Sotto “coerced” her into signing an “Affidavit of Desistance” dropping the rape complaint. But how could that affidavit be legal when she was only 14 when she signed it and without the presence of her attorney?

In her November 3, 2012 column in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Rina Jimenez David reported that: “Paloma eventually dropped the charges after she was allegedly visited by one of the trio who said he had only talked with her, but only after placing a pistol on the table in front of her.”

As a result of this signed affidavit, no criminal charges were filed against the three comedians even after they made a public apology to Pepsi Paloma for raping her when she was only 14.

Three years after her rape, on May 31, 1985, Pepsi was found dead in her apartment with a rope around her neck. The police concluded that it was a suicide caused by monetary problems, a motive disputed by her manager, Babette Corcuerra, who said that Pepsi was financially secure and was looking forward to acting in three movies. The suspicion persists that she was murdered barely a year before she was set to celebrate her 18th birthday.

“Eat Bulaga” is now entering its 35th year as the longest-running noontime variety program on air in the history of television making millionaires of its comedic stars. Sen. Tito Sotto is still in the Philippine Senate serving as the proud champion of the Roman Catholic Church in his staunch opposition to the Reproductive Health Act and to all forms of contraception.

Pepsi Paloma would have celebrated her 47th birthday this year.

15 Ingredients in McDonald's Fries Linked to Brain Damage. Read More!

A recent exposé of McDonald’s french-fry making process revealed a number of ingredients used in it have been linked to brain damage, autoimmune disorders, cancer and more.

Grant Imahara, of Mythbusters fame, recently visited the McDonald’s fry factory to find out exactly what McDonald’s fries are made of. During the process, Imahara “reverse-engineered” McDonald’s fries to find out the 15 ingredients that they are made up of. The ingredients are as follows:

Potatoes
Canola oil
Soybean oil
Hydrogenated soybean oil
Natural beef flavor
Hydrolyzed wheat
Hydrolyzed milk
Citric acid
Dimethylpolysiloxane
Dextrose
Sodium acid pyrophosphate
Salt
Hydrogenated oil
TBHQ (Tertiary butylhydroquinone)

Three Main Offenders

1. Dimethylpolysiloxane

This is a compound that is commonly used in aquarium tank sealants, hair conditioners, and silly putty. Sometimes it can even contain formaldehyde, a well-known toxic chemical that has been linked to brain damage, allergies, autoimmune disorders and cancer.

2. TBHQ, or Tertiary Butylhydroquinone

This is a type of phenol that is used to prevent deterioration of food, however, it is often found in substances such as perfume and bio-diesel.

3. Hydrogenated Soybean Oil

This oil has come under criticism for the unhealthy effects it has on people who consume in regularly. According to researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, at least 100,000 cardiac deaths that happen every year in the United States could have been prevented “if people replaced trans fat with healthier non-hydrogenated polyunsaturated or monounsaturated oils.”
Note:
The release of this information for the public is part of what McDonalds calls the “Our Food. Your Questions” campaign, which is an initiative to make nutritional information more available for customers.
“After listening carefully to our customers and identifying some of the challenges we were up against, McDonald’s created a transparent line of communication via the interactive, online Q&A platform,” the company said in a statement to Global News.
Although McDonald’s has been making their ingredients information more transparent due to customer demand, they have made no indication of any plans on changing their ingredients for the same reason.

Navy, Korean ship builder sign P15-B deal for two frigates

The Department of National Defense (DND) signed a P15-billion contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the construction and delivery of two frigates for the Philippine Navy.
In a statement, DND Sec. Delfin Lorenzana led the contract signing as the principal signatory together with HHI officials for the Frigate Acquisition Project at the Navy headquarters on Monday.
The contract worth $336.9 million was approved and granted to HHI on September 23.
The Navy called the acquisition of the two frigates as a "big step" and is by far the most expensive project undertaken by the Duterte administration.
"It is the single most expensive project yet that will be signed by the current administration," it said in a statement.
"The project, likewise, is the biggest project yet for the PN. Most importantly, this marks the entry of the PN into its quest to be a strong and credible navy by year 2020," it added.
South Korean Ambassador Jae Shin Kim led the Korean delegation during the ceremonial signing.
HHI officials Senior Vice President and HHI owner Ki Sun Chung, Senior Sales Officers Ki Young Sung and Jae Rak Kim, and Technical Sales Officer Unchul Kim also attended.
On the side of the Philippines, present with Lorenzana were Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Installation and Logistics Jesus Rey Avilla; Undersecretary for Financial Management Josue Gaverza Jr; Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics Maj. Gen. Job Yucoco.
Also present in the signing were the Chief of Naval Staff Read Admiral Gaudencio C Collado, Commander of the Philippine Fleet Rear Admiral Bayani Gaerlan, Commander of the Western Command Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado, Naval Sea Systems Commander Virme Torralba, and Project Management Team Chairman,Commodore Robert Empedrad.
The Navy currently has two Del Pilar-class frigates in its inventory, the BRP Gregorio Del Pilar and the BRP Ramon Alcaraz, all acquired from the United States. Joseph Tristan Roxas/NB, GMA News
